Business Development Manager (f/m) for Skytanking, Hamburg
Skytanking is a subsidiary of German company Marquard & Bahls AG, a leading independent petroleum company.
Skytanking is active in all fields of aviation fuelling, including building, owning and operating aviation fuel facilities and providing into-plane services to airlines, airports and oil companies. Skytanking offers its services at 49 airports in 12 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa and the USA. In 2011, Skytanking handled 10 billion litres of jet-fuel and refuelled more than 1.4 million commercial aircraft.
For the Skytanking head office based in Hamburg, Germany we are looking for two
Business Development Managers (f/m)
Main tasks:
- Promote Skytanking and its services in the international airline, oil company and airport markets
- Establish and develop customer relations at the appropriate decision making level
- Carry out market analyses, identify areas of opportunity for Skytanking’s business development and present the analyses to senior management
- Identify business opportunities and generate projects (investment proposals) in line with Skytanking’s strategy and business plans via market analysis and customer leads
- Handle all the activities required to turn business leads into an acceptable investment project
- Project manage projects generated by business development from approval to start-up.
The business development manager reports to the Vice President of Business Development of Skytanking Holding GmbH.
Qualifications and experience:
- University degree in business studies, economics or similar
- Many years of work experience on complex international projects
- Good knowledge of the aviation fuelling and the jet-fuel market, as well as oil companies, airlines and airports
- Experience of generating, developing and managing commercial and operational projects
- Networking, sales and communication ability and experience
- Convincing analytical, conceptual and reasoning abilities
- Knowledge of contract law, finance and aviation operations
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to travel extensively
- Ability to work alone or in teams, resilient, determined, profit-oriented
- Excellent level of English (other languages a distinct advantage)
- Willingness to travel internationally
